Pathway No. 20 has found a new home!

Pathway No.20

has found a new home! Thankyou to The Harborview Café and Gallery in Black Rock Connecticut for showing my work!
This quilted piece was mounted onto a 12x12" wooden frame which lifts it off the wall nicely.
All of the Pathway Series was inspired by the most scrumptious store-bought tie-dyed fabric!
I painted with light blue Lumiere fabric paint, added some gold circles , then went to town with my hand-stitching and beading!

Below is one piece from my PATHWAYS series. It is mounted on an 11" x 11" frame.

Am I Blue?

There was a call for entries entitled "Tangled Up in Blue" that I wanted to enter. I was not satisfied with my original creation and wound up missing the deadline.
What I've shown you here are some stages I went through. Yes! I did cut the original into 4 pieces before continuing on!

I used silk and felt to create the tangles. I hand-stitched with Perl cotton thread. The fabrics are a mix of my husband's old shirts and my hand-painted and dyed cottons.

I really wanted to give the impression of rising out of the tangle of blues.
What is your impression?
"Tangled Up In Blue" measures 38"x38"
Thankyou!

My Latest Pet Portrait

This is my latest pet portrait of my own fuzzy-faced friend Walter. He's in his favorite place to chill out--a carpet covered tunnel which is actually tan in color. I used my "artist license" to express what a fun and playful beast Walter really is!
I also used a process that I've been experimenting with called whole cloth quilting. I paint the entire fabric first on one piece of cloth, then I add my stitching. This piece measures 39"x34".

Seasons Change

At last! A breath of fresh air today! Some leaves are even changing color!
That's what inspired this piece called SEASONS CHANGE measuring 30x29inches.
I started with some fabric that I hand painted then added the felt trees. The lace doilies were made by grandma. I hope she doesn't mind my painting and stitching over them.

I'm baaack!Thankyou for waiting!

Hello! I'll start with an old favorite! This quilt which I named FLOWER POWER measures about 6x4 feet was made a while ago and toured many places. It got good reviews, but no one wanted to take it home. It's been rolled carefully in storage and I recently rediscovered it!
This wall hanging encompasses what I'm all about: Colors in Motion!
Please send me your comments and questions!
